Light Proof™ Wins 2015 WorldStar Packaging Award

9 December 2014

The WorldStar competition is one of the major events of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and is the pre-eminent international award in packaging. Judging took place on 19 November when representatives from 17 packaging associations and members of WPO, judged 265 packaging projects, from 37 countries, that applied for WorldStar Awards 2015.

Developed over a two year period in conjunction with Fonterra New Zealand, the Light Proof™ bottle is part of the Anchor range that delivers 100% light proof packaging. The bottle integrates an induction foil sealed cap that keeps light out at the bottleneck and finishes with three light-protective layers that make up the body. A black layer is sandwiched between two white layers to guarantee the contents of the bottle is 100% shielded from light, protecting milk from light damage, and preserving nutritional value and freshness.

The Light Proof™ bottle has received numerous industry accolades including 2014 Finalist in the World Dairy Innovation Awards, winner in the 2014 Good Design Selection Award, winner of best product from New Zealand in the 2014 World Tour by Sial Products Awards.

WorldStar illustrates the continual advancement of the state of packaging design and technology and creates a living standard of international packaging excellence from which others may learn.
